New Economic Development Organization, Collaborative EDO, Opens Regional Office

Collaborative EDO, a new economic development organization, has opened its regional headquarters office in downtown Eugene, Oregon. The organization’s mission is to accelerate the creation and increase the accessibility of more high wage jobs across Lane County, through new collaborative economic development programs and inclusive partnerships.

Collaborative EDO has received a warm welcome from their new office neighbors and is excited to be a part of the resurgence of workers to Eugene’s urban center.

“We are excited to welcome Collaborative EDO to downtown Eugene – a great place to Live, Work, and Play,” said Katie Wilgus, Executive Director of Downtown Eugene Inc. “Our organizations have a shared interest in recruiting and retaining employers in the community”.

Collaborative EDO’s new office in the Eugene HQ coworking building on Broadway Street, is clustered with many community centric organizations who also serve Lane County. These organizations include: Lane Small Business Development Center at LCC, Travel Lane County, Lane County Government, Lane Council of Governments, and Lane Workforce Partnership.

“We are thrilled to be a part of the energy drawing businesses and vitality back into downtown Eugene, while at the same time growing our programs to provide more support in Lane County’s rural communities. Locating our regional office in proximity to other organizations who are also advancing economic prosperity makes sense,” said Matt Sayre, Executive Director of Collaborative EDO. “We are all here to serve Lane County”.

Since Collaborative EDO’s launch in the spring of this year, the non-profit startup organization has established numerous partnerships at the state, regional, and local level – including Lane County’s rural communities.

“We are encouraged by the support of Collaborative EDO and their dedicated approach to inclusive economic prosperity,” said Lane Tompkins, Board President of McKenzie Community Land Trust. “We are standing together to rebuild a thriving and more resilient McKenzie community”.

Collaborative EDO has three strategic priorities in Lane County:

Welcome – attract and welcome new high wage employers to Lane County by offering support in selecting new sites for expansion, providing access to a talented workforce, and curating incentive programs.

Innovate – supporting startup companies with referrals to resources, connections to capital, and advising aspiring entrepreneurs on how to launch their companies.

Thrive – helping established companies to grow and thrive.

Collaborative EDO invites anyone interested in joining in the work of inclusive economic development in Lane County, to reach out.
